I do not have an artifact for this standard because it is an ongoing process that I must incorporate into my work wherever I begin teaching. Part of my professional development plan when I begin my position as a secondary ELA educator is to increase my proficiency in this ISTE standard. One thing I plan to do in a school- and community- wide approach is to make sure there is an established goal and vision for how we will use technology to involve families and students in effective ways. If there is a philosophy established, I want to collaborate with the school and administration to follow it. To reach toward performance indicator b, I plan to use differentiation and flipped classroom lesson plans in which my students will be able to learn content in different ways and create various assessments through digital technology. I want students to be creative and use multiple methods to show their learning. Finally, I also want to collaborate with other teachers at local and global levels where we can share methods and ideas for using digital technology in our classrooms. I want to share my ideas with other ELA teachers as well as cross-curricular programs. As I work with others, I will adopt their ideas and try them in my own classroom to find the best fits for my students and available materials.
