ENGLISH VIDEO SERIES
RESEARCH, APPLICATION, AND PRESENTATION
For the Honors program and my EDGE project at SUU, I conducted research on effective online pedagogy. Then, I created an engaging and educational series of short videos (3-5 minutes) that are free and easily accessible online for students, educators, and families. They teach about the history, use, and the important dos/don’ts for ten different punctuation marks: exclamation mark, question mark, period, colon, semicolon, comma, hyphen, parentheses, quotation marks, apostrophe. Videos are published on YouTube and were disseminated by friends, family, and teachers through word of mouth and social media. My project aims to inspire other educators to use online learning pedagogy in their teaching and to help myself stand out from other English Education majors because of the experience and knowledge I have gained.

ISTE EPORTFOLIO
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SHOWCASE
This ePortfolio is designed to show my commitment as a teacher to following the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards for educators. I am committed to continuing to gain skills in technology to provide the best-suited educations to my students. The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase different projects that I have worked on to fulfill each of the seven ISTE standards for educators.

RESEARCH PAPER
COLLABORATIVE DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
International students are assets to higher education institutions, and they need support in transitioning to the U.S. and dealing with acculturative stress. Previous research indicates that there is a connection between acculturative stress, social media use, and English ability among international students. However, the findings are still inconsistent. To further examine the relationship among these three factors, an online survey was distributed to international students attending a mid-size university in the U.S. The survey consisted of 30 items including Likert scales and one open-ended question. The results showed that Instagram and Facebook were two most used social media by international students. Social media were used more frequently for social communication than academic purposes. Consistent with previous research, higher level of English ability was related to less acculturative stress. There was a strong, positive association between self-reported reading ability and the use of English social media for social purposes.

THEMATIC UNIT
9 WEEKS OF LESSON PLANS
This unit contains nine weeks of lesson plans for a block schedule classroom with 100 minute periods. Lessons are complete with differentiation, multiple intelligences, standards addressed and assessed, learning objectives, close reading strategies, essential questions, materials and rubrics. The unit also contains research on multiple intelligences and how to incorporate it into my classroom. Throughout the nine weeks, every Utah state standard is assessed and presented in a standards met matrix. The thematic unit revolves around seven texts about "rivalry and revenge."

YEAR-LONG CURRICULUM MAP
OUTLINING FOURÂ 9-WEEK QUARTERS
This curriculum map outlines four quarters in a school year including the theme or focus of each quarter, requirements and major texts for students, and a final authentic assessment. The map also shows every English Language Arts Utah state standard and which quarters will assess each standard.
I complete projects that advance my learning and progression in the career field. I constantly strive to become a better educator as I seek out experiences that will improve my teaching, classroom management, and leadership skills.
